Artist's Description
Here is a beachside view of the ocean with a yellow sky. This mermaid and her bird companion left the comfort of her sailboat to follow her heart. This experimental mixed-media art began by crushing flowers on the paper. From there, the art seemed to create itself. The mermaid was cut out and shaped, the scrap paper cut into shapes and layered on canvas with fabric. Markers and glitter added accents andhighlights.
